Celebrity endorsement
The right face can give your brand instant credibility with the right audience. We’ll help you find them, and we’ll deal with everything it takes to get them into your advert.
The right person, not the most famous one
A well-known face is a shortcut, because people already know them and already have an opinion of them, so some of that trust rubs off on your business the moment they appear on screen.
It only works if it’s the right person, though. Somebody your customers recognise and believe will always do more for you than a bigger name who has no obvious connection to what you sell. That’s why we start with your audience and work back to the person, and not the other way round.
We’ve written more about how to make that choice in our guide to celebrity endorsement.
What we handle
Once we know who you’re trying to reach, we’ll put together a shortlist of people who’d be a good fit, across a range of budgets, and then we do the legwork.
- Approaching agents and finding out who’s available and interested
- Negotiating the fee and what it covers
- Agreeing where the advert can be shown, and for how long
- Sorting out the contract, including any restrictions on either side
- Scheduling the shoot around their diary
- Looking after them on the day
How the fee works
A celebrity’s fee covers more than turning up on the day, because it also pays for the right to use their name, face and voice in your advertising, and that’s normally agreed for a set period, in set places. A regional TV campaign for six months costs less than a national one that also runs online for two years.
That’s worth knowing at the start, because it affects how you plan the campaign. If there’s a chance you’ll want to use the advert on social media, in cinemas or on your website, we’ll make sure it’s covered in the agreement from day one, since adding it afterwards nearly always costs more.
Does it have to be someone on screen?
A recognisable voice can do a great deal of the same job without anybody appearing on screen, and it’s often a more affordable way in. We work with a roster of voiceover artists, and for the right project we can approach a well-known voice in exactly the same way we’d approach a well-known face.
It’s also worth thinking about what else could make your advert stand out. A piece of music written for your brand, or a famous track that everybody knows, can do some of the same work as a famous face.
Got somebody in mind?
Tell us who you’re thinking of, or tell us who you’re trying to reach and we’ll suggest some names.
